We are committed to listening and learning to deliver lasting sustainable projects.
At the very early stages we work closely with the clients and the design team to create the most cost effective solution.
Our knowledge and experience of working in and around live environments makes us particularly sensitive to the special needs and safety of children and staff.
We have recently completed a two classroom extension for Shobnall School, who approached Buchan Special Projects for an alternative option to timber or steel modular units.
We created a scheme compromising of a suspended pre-cast concrete floor slab and sandwich panel wall system which in this case, due to the ground conditions, sits on piles and ground beams.
Using this system the floors and precast sandwich panel walls were erected in just five days, with the trussed roof and tiles taking just a further week to complete.
A brick effect finish was imprinted into the wall panels, to match the surrounding buildings.
This method reduced the on-site floor, walls and roof construction period by around five weeks, giving the client exactly what they wanted - a short on-site construction period.
The whole project from excavation of foundation to completion of fit-out ready for occupation took just twelve weeks..
